Knysna Day 3 High res (1 of 1).jpg

In March of 2019 I took my family on a roadtrip to Knysna. On the 3 day of our stay we decided to go to the elephant park. My daughter was one years old at the time.

Knysna Elephant park is is 23.9 km drive out of Knysna and 11.6 km from plettenberg bay.

We haven’t actually planned to visit the Elephant Park at the time when planning our trip to Knysna. I thought it would be a very nice thing to exprerience for my family.

The drive out of Knysna to the Elephant Park is a very scenic as it is the Garden Route. Now the turnoff to the Elephant Park in right on the N2 so you have to look out for that.

Once you get to the Park you have some options which is:

Daily tours,

Morning Elephant walks- where you walk with the Elephants

Afternoon Elephant walks- where you walk with the Elephants

We did the daily tours as we didn’t plan this in our roadtrip so we could’nt afford the morning or afternoon Elephant walks.

Once you pay you then go into and orientation to give you some info on the park and safety info. Then you get to to the elephants.

You get to feed the Elephants and get to touch them, under the guidance of the staff to keep you safe.

There are some Zebra’s at the Park too.

One thing that will supprise you is about Elephants is that for such a huge animal they are very quiet walkers. You cannot even hear them coming bup being you.

We had an amazing time at the Elephant park and will definitely go back for either the morning walks or afternoon walks.
