Photo Fair with Sony Alpha
On Saturday 29 Feb I attended the Sony Alpha Festival at the Photo Fair Africa where I got to play around with the range of Sony Alpha camera.
There where some well known camera brands like Sony, Fujifilm, Nikon and also the accessories brand and Tamron lenses.
Each brand had their section where you could try out their cameras and had some photographers teaching the attendees some tips and tricks. There was also a main stage with guest photographer talking about their niche of photography also showing some secrets and tips.
Sony had a mini studio set up where we could shoot a ballerina Gill Upsher (seen in the photo above). Once I got shoot I actually had to stop myself not only because I was javing such a great time but it was very hot that day and I was beginning to sweat heavily.
As the day progressed we outside where Sony set up some strobes and soft boxes and had some Zulu dancers.
After we shot with the Zulu dancers we had to wait until sunset for the fire breather to do his thing. In the meantime I went for a drive and got me something to eat. As I got back the fire breather began to set up as the sun was setting. Once it was dark enough he began to do his thing.
As it got very dark we began to do some Astrophotography. We began to move to the darker fields of the Meerandal Wine farm. Although there was still plenty of light polution around, the incredible low light performances of the Sony Alpha camera we got some nice detail.
Getting really carried away we finished at 10pm where we called it a day as the Sony Alpha guys had to pack up the cameras and get ready for the next day.
I can say I’m quite impressed with the performance of the Sony Alpha camera that I fell inlove with it. I will be sure to get me one.
